The priority during the selection and breeding process was to achieve increased yield and rapid growth at a juvenile age. The result of 3 decades of research and development is a 50-60% increase in yield when compared to the common species.

Typically, available in the form of 60-80 cm bare-rooted seedlings with a 8-12mm trunk diameter.

High wood density with approx. 700-750kg/m3 when kiln dry with a Janka score of 1,700 lbf.

Size: Medium – 1 year Old, 60-80cm tall, 8-12mm trunk diameter, bare rooted

  • planting spacing of eg. 2 x 2 m
  • Short rotation period (on average Hungarian soil): 14-16 years
  • Expected yield: 400-500 m3/ha
  • 40-50% industrial wood
  • 1 thinning before clear-cut
  • Adaptable spacing options possible
